hello, recently ordered service pack 2 cd on the micrsoft site as my
daughters computer is not connected to net and she wanted the win
moviemaker which is included on disc, it cost €8, received cd today
and when i opened envelope on disc sleeve was the following
message-"Thank you for your order, Enclosed is the FREE winXP Service
Pack 2 CD you requested" ???? Also included was a receipt for the
payment of € 8, i rang the phone no on the receipt but this was only
a ms delivery company, sent an email to microsoft enquiring about the

Perhaps this was the shipping charge. When MS issues free CDs, there is
typically a shipping charge.

It is indeed the shipping charge, which they include as the price.

http://www.microsoft.com/windowsxp/downloads/updates/sp2/cdorder/en_us/default.mspx

"Note: A shipping and handling charge will be assessed on your order."

When I go to the page detailing the order, it says that the price is six
pounds plus taxes, and that "Shipping charges are included in the price and
apply to all countries. "
