Service Pack 2 Windows XP Home

I ordered a CD of SP2. I have an early version of XP Home without SP1. Do I
need to download SP1 if I'm installing SP2 via CD or does SP2 have all the
necessary updates. If I need SP1, how do I download a copy so I can burn to
CD.

Thanks

SP2 has all the of SP1 in it plus all the new stuff in the download

one thing you will find out- if you have xp before even sp1, you find
that in some case- xp will tell you after you load sp2, that you have a
different OP system on you xp cd, and it will be the old xp cd is
differnt now, from the op xp you are now runing on you compter after sp2

to fix that just slipstream xp cd and sp2, and burn to cd---

Hi,

No, you don't need SP1, all the improvements of SP1 are included in SP2 so
you can just go straight ahead and install it.

For more information see
http://www.microsoft.com/windowsxp/sp2/support.mspx

In addition-
And don't forget that when loaded and installed, which in itself can be a
problem, you will then have some 80+ other security/criticals to install -
take care - don't rush their download and installation.

If you get problems, find the update group in that web interface discussion
group that you are using and post there and not in general.
I wish you the best of luck with this - see you in the update group perhaps
:)
