service pack 2 problems

Has anyone had problems after installing the service pack
2 for windows xp, after installing and rebooting, my
computer will not come back up I just get a blue screen
that says Stop: c0000135 {unable to locate componet}
This application has failed to start because winserv was
not found. Reinstalling the application may fix this
problem.
Has anyone come across this, I have tried to reboot with
windows cd, it goes back to same error message, I cannot
even start in safe mode.

That error means the 'winsrv.dat' or 'winsrv.dll' file is missing or
corrupt in the Windows\System32 folder, or more likely that
the registry is corrupt.

After performing a "Repair Install", reinstall SP2.
