Yesterday I had a strange problem.
On attempting to publish a web using FP2003 I got the above message so I
closed that web and tried publishing another with the same result.
Thereafter I could not access any of the 5 webs I have created held on the
same server, I received a DNS error for all of them although I could open
any other web site with no problem.
I tried rebooting my Router, restarting the computer, cleaning FP with
FPClean, all to no avail.
This morning I started the computer and the problem seems to have resolved
itself as I have published the site that initiated the problem.
This is the 1st time I have had this problem with FP but I had the inabilty
to view all 5 sites whilst being able to view any other, once before.
Can anyone please suggest why this problem should occur?
Thanks in advance

Sounds like there was an issue with the Domain Name Server system, hence the
DNS error.
It is not a problem with your machine or FrontPage.

Domain Name servers are what convert www.mywebsite.com to the numerical IP
address of your website so that the browser can find it.

You can see how it works by pinging your web site from a command window.
Here's an example:

ping www.95isalive.com
Pinging 95isalive.com [64.118.84.12] with 32 bytes of data:

Reply from 64.118.84.12: bytes=32 time=69ms TTL=47
Reply from 64.118.84.12: bytes=32 time=70ms TTL=47
Reply from 64.118.84.12: bytes=32 time=70ms TTL=47
Reply from 64.118.84.12: bytes=32 time=71ms TTL=47

Ping statistics for 64.118.84.12:
Packets: Sent = 4, Received = 4, Lost = 0 (0% loss),
Approximate round trip times in milli-seconds:
Minimum = 69ms, Maximum = 71ms, Average = 70ms

Hi Steve,
Many thanks for your rompt reply.
I'll have a word with my host.
If it occurs again perhaps I should try using the IP address which would
serve to prove your point.
Thanks

An issue with Domain Name Servers isn't a problem with your host.
It's way bigger than them.

Here's some info about it:

FYI: The IP address will only work if each domain has a unique (not shared) IP address.
