Server Name

We recently set up a new server to replace our old server. We DCPROMED to
demote our old server named Paoli to just a member server. We then changed
the name to Paoli_oldserv. On the new server which was a member server named
Paoli_1 we changed the name to Paoli. We then DCPromoed it to make it a DC.
We ran into all sorts of problems that we couldn't see any of the shared
drives on the server or anything. We tried to demote itand we couldnn't. It
gives us an error saying we must be part of the enterprise admins group which
the account we use clearly is. I believe this is a name issue since we are
trying to use the same name of Paoli for the new server. How can we fix
this. Please help.

Was Paoli the only domain controller?
If it was, demoting it destroyed your domain.

The only solution is to restore.

Nope. We have several Domain Controllers. This was just a DC at a site.
Its not the root either that holds the operation masters. Our root is here
at the main location. This was just one of our sites.
