Server Domain Name & Website Name are the same & Conflict

I cannot figure out why our server domain name and our www internet website name are conflicting. They both use the same .com name. domain name = abc.com & website name = www.abc.com The server will not let any client, t server client nor itself even as administrator, rights to open the internet home page website. Looking back now, it seems obvious there could be security problems. Does anyone have an idea of how to safely resolve the conflict?

Do you mean your internal network name the same as your real internet
domain? If so then you will need to add a www record on your internal DNS
server with real Public IP of this website. Can you get to this website from
outside your network? If I am understanding this right this should fix your
issue.

Yes, Internal domain is the same as our web domain. Yes we can get to this website from outside our network.

How do I add www record to internal dns server? Basic explanation please.

Thank you.

Go into your primary zone for you domain. Create a new A record and call it
www and then give it the public ip address of your website. When someone
types this address into their address bar it should return the real public
ip of the website and connect.

Thank you very much for your assistance. It took me a few minutes to figure out how to add a host inside the tree, but when I did our connectivety to our www host immediately loaded up.
Thanks again,
JFin
