server advice

Greetings,

I'm about to order a new server for my win2000-based web application. Wondering what i get with ordering a Xeon processor over a normal P4 processor? What does Xeon give to my server that a normal P4 with the same or better specs doesn't? Any related info on choosing a processor for the server would be much appreciated.

Cheers,

To start with, Xeon processors are SMP-aware, and P4s are not. So if you
are (or ever will be) upgrading to a multi-processor setup, the Xeon is your
choice. Otherwise, they are very similar processors.
