sernum.sys caused an unexpected error (12800) at line 5964 in d:\x

I was trying to do a clean install with my XP SPII disk and received the
above message. When I google around I found that this Unexpected err (12800)
is only relevant to Win 2000/2003 Exchange Server! I curious as to how can I
resolve this issue?

Impossible to say since we don't know how you are performing your clean
install. These instructions work:

Thanks Leonard, I had recently replaced my old C: drive maxtor and was trying
to install just the basic XP-SPII OS, so that I could reaccess my working
copy of XP-SPIII. During this occassion I ran into a reading problem from my
DVD drive. This message appeared before it could reach the first screen where
I could do a XP Repair or select to install/reinstall my OS environment.

I just completed the clean re-install process, so I will now take on the
task of re-connecting my other drives. Thanks for that link . . .
