Serious IE problem

For me at least!

I recently upgraded to IE7 and could not access the menus at the top (Tools,
Bookmarks, etc.), so I decided to uninstalled IE7 and go back to IE6. Once
the uninstall was complete, I restarted and immediately got an error message
saying that "iertutil.dll was missing". I've tired running SFC from a
command prompt, and from the task manager and continue to get the same error
message.

I'm now stuck with no icons and no other way to try to install or repair IE6
(that I know of), to top it off the PC is a Dell that came without a copy of
XP to reinstall.

Any suggestions?

Thanks in advance-

Nico

Hi,
See if ie-rereg from
Internet Explorer FAQ - Repair IE6 on Windows XP SP2
http://iefaq.info/index.php?action=artikel&cat=24&id=31&artlang=en
can repair IE6. ie-rereg won't replace a missing file, but reregisters DLLs
used by IE6.

Plan B...
Download IE7 install files from
http://www.microsoft.com/windows/downloads/ie/getitnow.mspx Save the
installer- don't run it from the web. Reinstall IE7 with
antispyware/antivirus programs disabled.

Hope this helps,
