I've got an older sidewinder gamepad with a serial end on
it. My computer only has usb ports. Is there a converter
or adapter available anywhere that i can buy?

There are converters available, and it will work in the
games, but your money is better spent upgrading to
a USB game controller instead. :)

It is more likely to be a 15 pin gameport connector. I have never seen a
joystick/gamepad with a serial 9 pin/25 pin connector come from Microsoft.

There is a USB to Gamepot adapter (sold by Radio Shack) but I do not know
how good it is.
