Sent Email But Won't Go

I sent an email several months ago, but it just keeps sitting in the Outbox.
Every few minutes it tries to send it, but won't. The person to whom I was
sending the email is now deceased. I now need to delete the email, however,
Outlook won't let me do that either. How do I get rid of this email? It has
a rather large attachment, making the document 67MB. Could that be the
problem? Any help would be appreciated.

Hi Mel,
A couple of ways, disconnect from the internet, open outlook, delete the
email, shutdown outlook, reboot, or you can try with outlook open, click on
file, click work offline, delete email, either way working offline is the
answer.

Delete an item stuck in the Outbox folder:
- Load Outlook.
- Put Outlook in offline mode (File -> Work Offline, enable).
- Optional - If Outlook touches the stuck item, you can't delete it.
If you touched the item:
o Exit Outlook.
o Load Outlook in its safe mode ("outlook.exe /safe"). This ensures:
+ No plug-ins get loaded that might touch the item.
+ Loading Outlook in offline mode means it won't touch the stuck
item.
- Delete the stuck item in the Outbox folder.
- Put Outlook in online mode (File -> Work Offline: disable).
- If you restarted Outlook in its safe mode, exit and restart Outlook
for normal operation.
