Sending Messages from Outlook Shows 2 of 2

I have noticed that when I create a message to a single
recipient in Outlook and send that message, the status
bar shows "sending message 2 of 2." I only have one
message in the outbox to send. What is the 2 of 2?

Thank you.

NFC, why not check your Outbox?

Uh, thanks for your response.

I tried to convey in my message that when there was only
one message in the outbox it still says "2 of 2."

I just did it again. My outbox was clear and I created a
single message to one recipient. It gave the exact same
message.

In fact, I just created two messages and sent them. The
status bar showed "2 of 3". It appears to always have one
extra message.
