Sending Files

I have WinXP Pro with SP2.

How can I send files to where I want [as opposed to the Windows mavens
who specify where the files are to go]?

For example, all files that I download go automatically to E:\My
Documents. I would like the program files to go to C:\Program Files.
[The C:\Program Files directory/folder is where "old timers" are used
to putting applications (and for some of us, TXT files as
descriptions).]

I assume the programs will work from C:\Program Files directory unless
they are SPECIFICALLY geared to work elsewhere.

To add insult to injury once the programs are in My Documents there is
not an option to send them to a folder of my choosing.

Thank you,

Hi Barry,

The programs folder is not really a good place to have as your
automatic download location (i would recommend creating a seperate
folder on your HDD for this). But you can move any files you download
into the program files directory by right clicking then copying or
cutting then pasting into c:\program files. Without knowing what
program you are using to download i cannot say how to specify a new
default download folder.
