sending e-mail from word loses header/footer

i've created a Word 2003 document with a header and
footer that is intended for distribution through e-mail
(directly from word, not as an attachment; it's like a
newsletter). however, i noted that when the document is
opened in outlook, it's missing the header and footer
(which is crucial, since they contain my company's
branding).

is there any way to include a header and footer in a Word
2003 document when e-mailed? (attachment is not an
option; it must be visible when viewed.) i've even tried
saving the document as a web page (which, on preview,
shows the header and footer) and then e-mailing it, but
the same results - no header or footer. help (pls).

Can you save the document as a PDF file, and then include the PDF in your
email?

hi. i can, but the overall answer is no 'cause the
requirements are that the newsletter has to seamlessly go
from one office 2003 program (word) to e-mail (outlook).
(hence, no attachments).

any other ideas why the header/footer is missing when
opened in outlook? thks.
