"Send To Mail Recipient Not Working

R

Richard John

When try to send a photo as attachment, I right click and select "send
to". The small window pops up asking if I want the picture smaller or
normal - make my selection then - ZIP. Nothing Happens. Normally it
brings up my mail client but has stopped doing so.
What causes this and how can I fix it. Thanks in advance.

Richard,
Try re-setting your preferred email client in "Set Program
Access and Defaults" found on the 'Start Menu'

Thanks Tim but just tried that and still no good. I can send to
"shortcut on desktop" okay but not to my mail client. I am using
Mozilla Thunderbird - perhaps windows doesn't like that. It used to
work but quit recently.

HMMM - set default to Outlook Express and send to works. Reverted back
to Thunderbird and now works - good old Microsoft. Sheesh. Thanks all.

Please state your full Windows version (e.g., WinXP SP3; Vista SP2) when
posting to this newsgroup. In this case, also state your IE version.

To reassert OE as the default:

1. See http://www.oehelp.com/oedef.aspx; then see...

2a. http://www.oehelp.com/oelnk.aspx and/or...

2b. Start | Settings | Control Panel | Add/Remove Programs | Set Program
Access and Defaults | Click on the downward-pointing arrows to the right of
the configuration that's already checked | Email: Select "Outlook Express"
here (not "Use my current...").

Well - that beats all. I set Outlook Express as my default and "send
to" brings it up. Set back to Thunderbird and now it works OK. Sheesh.
Well - another problem averted - thanks all.

I have tried this and I STILL can't get thunderbird to attach a file
with send to (though it will work with outlook). any ideas on what
else to do? I think thunderbird updated to a new version a few days
ago and it hasn't worked since then, but I can't find anything on how
to fix this on the mozilla site.
