Tools | Options. Under the General Tab, check to Send & Receive at Startup
and check the box to Check for messages every XX minutes. Set it to 10 ~
15.
Under the Send Tab, check to Send Messages Immediately.
Otherwise, you do have to use the Send/Receive button.
