I just upgraded my machine form XP-SP2 to Viste-Enterprise and since than my
Outlook 2007 doesn't finish the Send/receive proces. It keeps running at the
last step: 'Saving synchronization log'.

Does anyone have an idea how to solve the problem?

TIA

Since you can't create a new mail profile while IN Outlook, I wager you have
not created a new profile. New mail profiles are created using the Mail
applet in Control Panel.

If you turn off Cached Exchange mode, does it affect the problem?

Unfortunately no difference. It still just says 5 seconds left beside the
task in the send/receive detail box and below it says 'Saving synchronization
log'. It stays like that until i manually cancel and never shows an error.

BTW - i did try to disable UAC just to see if it made a difference and it
did not.

I am having the same issue. Office diagnostics find no problems. I have no
other issues. I set up a new PC with Vista Ultimate 64-bit, with Office 2007
Ultimate. New profile. No USMT or any transfer of setting from an old PC.
Everything is a "fresh" install and configuration. When I synchronize,
everything succeeds, but it hangs when the status displays "Saving
synchronizationlog" with 5 seconds estimated time remaining. I have disabled
various send/receive options one-by-one, but nothing seems to make any
difference. I have left it running for hours, without any errors or
completion of the send/receive. I am curious if turning off the sync log
save would allow the send/receive to work, but I have been unable to find
where that setting could be changed (I'm still looking). When I eventually
cancel the send/receive, I get the following error:

Task '(e-mail address removed)' reported error (0x80048002) : 'This task was
cancelled before it was completed.'

Oh... I meant to mention that I am synchronizing a mailbox hosted on an
Exchange 2007 mailbox server. I have full authority over the operation of
the server, so I can test possible fixes.

The synchronization log is saved, and is pasted below:

15:01:45 Synchronizer Version 12.0.4518
15:01:45 Synchronizing Mailbox 'Todd Snyder'
15:01:45 Synchronizing Hierarchy
15:01:45 Done
15:01:50 Microsoft Exchange offline address book
15:01:50 Download successful

Any ideas as to why it hangs and never completes would be greatly appreciated.

The synchronization log is created and is pasted below:

15:01:45 Synchronizer Version 12.0.4518
15:01:45 Synchronizing Mailbox 'Display Name'
15:01:45 Synchronizing Hierarchy
15:01:45 Done
15:01:50 Microsoft Exchange offline address book
15:01:50 Download successful

Any thoughs or ideas as to why the send/receive process never completes or
errors would be greatly appreciated.

Todd,

Have you made any head way here? I am still experiencing the issue and none
of the latest Microsoft Updates have solved this for me...

Has anyone found a resolution for this? I'm experiencing this only on a handful of users with no commonality other than they are hosted on an Exchange 2007 server instead of an Exchange 2003.
