Send Movie to DV Camera

I am using Moviemaker 2.1 on a computer with XP, masses of hard disk and ram
and am trying to send a finished movie (.avi) to the mini DV tape in my sony
TRV22 camcorder.
Everything seems to work OK. It goes through the whole process, the tape
even record - but nothing is recorded onto the tape.
Can anyone suggest where I am going wrong

I have never tried this but my first guess is some setting on the camera.
