Self-converting keys

I've had a strange problem with my laptop keyboard, and I don't know anyone
who's encountered this problem ever. My right shift key has converted itself
into a strange control key. It's not quite like the other control key, and
its taken some of the functions from my original control key, but it
certainly isn't a shift key. It happened unexpectedly one day, and I don't
think that I did anything that might have caused this effect. When I got the
laptop, it was fine and was for a long time. My left shift key is fine. Do
you have any idea what might have happened?

This sounds like a language/keyboard related problem. Some languages use
this sort of arrangement to generate specific characters.
Check the regonal settings, and then the keyboard driver.

I'm sorry, I don't know what the regional settings should be. Could you tell
me. But anyway I did not make any changes to the regional settings before
this happened. Is it possible that the regional settings may have changed
spontaneously?
