seeing windows xp files and printer from win2000

I have two computers in a workgroup sharing files and printers(I see both
when I click "view workgroup computers").
pc1 : Windows XP sp2
pc2 : Windows 2000 sp4

I can access files of pc2 (win2000) by entering username and pwd from pc1
but not vice-versa. I can't access pc1 (winxp) files from pc2 (win2000).

In pc2 (win2000), I get a login screen and when I enter the username and pwd
of a user in pc1 (ex. administrator), it doesn't login.

So I can't see the shared folders and shared printer of pc1 (winxp). In the
firewall of pc1(winxp), the exception is on for file and printer sharing.

I don't have any other firewall or internet security.

thank you

Update:

I was able to add and view the content of pc1 (winxp) from my laptop pc3
which has winxp on it.

When doubleclicking pc1 from the workgroup(on my laptop), I get a login
prompt. so I typed a username and pwd of pc1, and I was able to connect and
see the shared folders and printer.

I think there is an issue with win2000. It cannot connect to winxp.
I hope there is a workaround, any help is greatly appreciated
