See hidden attributes in ADUC

T

Tim Kalligonis

I need to add the employeeID and employeeType to the ADUC screens.

Here is what I have done:
I have enabled the employeeID and employeeType through the schema manager. I
am connected to the schema manager server.
I have checked the "Allow this attribute to be shown in advanced view."

It is not visible in ADUC when I view advanced

What else am I missing?

Can someone direct me to a Q article or let me know what I am not doing
correctly?

Thanks,
Tim

Hello Tim:

If you are using Exchange also, it will add 15 custom attributes to each
user object. If you have completed your migration to Exchange 200x from
Exchange 5.5, then you should be free to use any and all of the CAs. The CAs
are visible in ADUC and can contain any string of data. Considering the
comments from Simon and Joe, you might be better off just using the CAs. We
used them at my last company, which was a huge, multi-national company, so
it's common practice.

Regards,
Martin
