Security update for SQL server won't install

Hi,

I think this is an outlook problem ...

When I download the Security update for SQL server 2005 SP2 (KB948109) it
downloads successfully but fails to install. Error code 0x733F.
I get a message on turn-off whether to turn off without installing, but if I
let it try to install it again comes up with the failed to install message.

Thanks

Uhhh. Why do you think this is an Outlook problem? I'm a little confused.

Well, can you guide me to the proper discussion group for the problem?
cheers

Why not start with why you think it's an Outlook problem. I mean, that's
the key.

Are you running SQL Server?

No. I don't use it or need it. I'd prefer to disable \ delete it, and prevent
updates for it from downloading. Regards

I'm still not sure why you thought it was an Outlook issue.

Is SQL Server listed in Add/Remove programs?
What version of Outlook is this?

Apologies for the late reply, I was on holidays.
SQL server is listed in the Add\Remove programs.
Outlook 2007 SP1.
I made an erroneous assumption that it was an Outlook problem. Can you help,
or redirect me, I'd be grateful.
Is there a way to delete the update, and stop them from downloading from
Microsoft in the future.

Well, then, I certainly will thank you. I was a little concerned (not fully
understanding what it was) that it may interfere with the normal operation of
XP.

Lastly, how do I get rid of the unnecessary SQL update which is sitting on
my computer trying to install?

With thanks

It's not installed by default, so unless an application you have installed
needs it, there shouldn't be an issue.

Beats me. Try uninstalling and see if the update decides it doesn't need
to be installed? Or post in one of the XP newsgroups and ask.
