Security settings NOT prohibit ActiveX - but still get message

Steve Malee

I have searched the FAQ pages for answers, and none relate
to this issue. Also, I did find many other persons like
myself with the same question who did not receive
sufficient replies.

The problem is this: I get the message below when
accessing some web pages, and then I cannot see what I
want on the web page.

"Your current security settings prohibit running ActiveX
controls on this page. As a result, the page may not
display correctly."

I am now getting this message with the new Norton Personal
Firewall and I CANNOT perform "visual tracking" because
Norton "thinks" my security settings prohibit ActiveX

MY SETTINGS ARE OK.

I have re-set all settings according to the instructions
given me to allow ActiveX controls.

STILL, I GET THIS MESSAGE.

Is there any resolution to this problem?

Thanks

So you have checked your settings under tools\security
internet custom level? Assuming you are using IE and not
some other web browser.

Yes, I am using IE 6.0 & have correctly checked all the
settings in the custom level of tools/internet
options/security..

Do you have other suggestions -- help is needed.

THanks
