security patch 822925

Recently I tried to install patch 822925 which I
understand is a security patch to bridge an apparent
vulnerability of some sort.
The instructions indicated I could put this patch directly
to "run this program from its current location".
After I checked "English" and "Go" I received a save
utility window.
How do I get the patch on the recently installed I.E. 6.0
service pack 1 that I installed on 8-27-03 so it will be
automatically effective each time I run I.E. 6 ?

Does Windows Update recognize the patch as needed? Q822925 was released, I
believe, prior to 27 Aug-03 so your install of IE6-SP1 most likely included
this and all other patches to-date.

My I.E. 6 was actually shipped some time before I believe
sometime aroumd 7-25-03 but not installed untill 8-27-03
Shouldn't a person be told that a particular update is not
needed if it already has been incorporated in the software?

Windows Update will tell you, which is why I suggested seeing of WU
recognizes the need for Q822925.[/QUOTE]

PROBLEM SOLVED.
I went to a Microsoft SUPPORT SITE instead of the SECURITY
Site and was able to download the patch right into the
folder I wanted .
THANKS MICROSOFT FOR THE SUPPORT SITE WITH A DOWNLOAD
UTILITY AND SCAN THAT ADDED MY 822925 PATCH PLUS MORE
