security issue with windows

I have a problem with a pop up messenger service. A user
somehow( i believe ) hacked into my windows system file
and changed the CSRSS.EXE system file. The messenger pop
up window comes up irregularly stating that if i wish to
get rid of this pop up problem i should go to a certain
website. If i close the window it will pop up again
within 10 minutes or so. I used my McAffe firewall
service to track where the messenger program came from
and it said that it was coming from my CSRSS.EXE file.
After I close the pop up windows for some time a warning
by windows comes on stating that my virtual memory is
low. How do i resolve this problem?

The pop-ups you are recieving is merely some scumbag
taking advantage of an administrator service that
automatically runs by default. You do not need to invest
in any program to disable this service. It is very easy
to manually disable it yourself.
Right click on My computer, then click on "Manage"
In the Computer management Console look in the left pane.
Expand (clicky on the little plus sign), "Services and
Applications". Now click on "services" so that it is
highlighted. Look in the right pane for a service
names "Messenger". Right click on "Messenger" then click
on "Properties". In the "startup" drop box change it
to "disabled". Now click on the "stop" button below that
to stop the service. Now you can close all the windows
you have opened.

After accomplishing these steps you will no longer
get "Messenger Service" popup advertisements from the
internet. Hope this helps.

I have this
pop up problem in Messenger like everybody else, but I
can't access
the services file because it says i may not have
permission to access. I've tried everything I can think
of and still cannot get in. I don't understand why MS
makes this stuff so difficult for people with 1 pc an no
interest in networking anybody. Any ideas are greatly
appreciated!

thanks, frustrated,
