Security alert

Every day, I receive several Security Alert High Risk notices from Norton
Anti-Virus. The current one says "Attempt to connect to local computer
using the Backdoor/SubSeven Trojan horse blocked". What does this mean?
What do I do to trace these messages and how do I turn these people in?
Also, in looking over the Norton information, it says I may have a Trojan
horse on my computer. How do I find this information?
Thanks
Iris

Hi Iris,
Backdoor/subseven Trojan horse blocked, this means that
someone tried to get on your computer (probability by an
automated program)and your firewall stopped it. You can
trace who it was with several different programs,Norton's
web site has a free tracer to be used online. To find a
Trojan on your computer run your anti-virus and let it
find it,it's most likely in a quarantine file of Norton's
and can be deleted.
This is really not uncommon and their is no authority to
turn them into except maybe their ISP.Mcafee's visaul
trace is one of the programs that I mentioned sometimes
when a trace is done this program will provide a e/mail
address to report abuse to or a phone # if it was traced
to a company this can be handy.Since your firewall
stopped it their really is no need to worry, this happens
to me often.

Update your virus scan and then scan your computer to see if you do indeed have the
trojan and then remove it. You should go to http://securityresponse.symantec.com/ to
do a search to find more specific information on removing detected trojans, etc.
Forget tracing messages as it is YOUR responsibility to secure your computer with a
firewall being a must and unless you can prove substantial financial loss in the
thousands of dollars and have preserved the state of your computer with substantial
logging activity no one will care. If you tell the cops your house was burglarized
because the front door was not locked they will tell you to lock the front door in
the future. --- Steve

Inez....I love that name......!!!!
Looks like your Norton program works.
Worth the money you paid for it now?

price.
