Launch Outlook Express and from the Toolbar select:
Tools > Accounts > Mail > Properties > Servers and
uncheck the box next to "Remember password", click Apply.

Go to File... Identities ...Manage Identities, select the Properties of the
identity you use (probably Main Identity) and apply a password to it.

OE will then require a password each time you start the computer. (whereas
removing your account-password will not prevent people reading your existing
email)

Note that if you lose this password there is NO recovery, so do be careful
with it.

Your OE folders are usually stored under C:\Documents and
Settings\your name\Local Settings\Application Data\Identities\a long
number\Microsoft\Outlook Express/

It would be viable to run> Control Panel> User Accounts> Pick an
account to change> Your name> create a password> make private.

You will be the only one to access any of your personal files.

Of course if others must use the computer you must set up separate
accounts for them. The guest account may also work.
