Search in Outlook

I just upgraded to Windows 7 and then went to Windows Live and downloaded the
updates, including Outlook Connector.
But now I can no longer search in Outlook. Earlier, if I typed in a name or
clicked on a category, I instantly found the contact I needed. But now -
nothing.
Is there something I need to do to 're-activate' the search feature in
Outlook?
