Search function does not find everything

I just installed a program.
I was curious to see what files & folders were installed, so I did a Search
(local C drive) for all modified programs as of today's date. However,
Search did not find everything!

What Search found (that I knew was definitely installation related) was
files and folders in C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Start
Menu\Programs\

but it did not find the installation in C:\Program Files\ where it was
installed into folders with today's date.

I tried it again -- same results. Why doesn't the Search function find
everything?

You need to turn on the Advanced options to search system folders, and
to search hidden and system folders. Otherwise it will assume that
you're just looking amongst your own data files and folders.
