When I click on Web Search in Outlook, it used to take me to Google, now
however, it takes me to Yahoo.com. I DON'T WANT YAHOO! I want Google.
Please advise, and thank you.

This is an Internet Explorer setting, not Outlook's. Click on the Search
button on the IE toolbar and choose Customize.

I am using Microsoft Outlook 2003. Up until recently, it always went to
Google for Web search, now Yahoo. : (

I have this space in Outlook for direct link entry or for Searching in
Microsoft Outlook 2003.

Thank you. You're right, Outlook uses IE, but keeps Outlook open. I opened
IE, and went to searches and click on Google. Then I went back to Outlook
and click on the seach icon, and Yahoo came up again. Google is default in
IE, and Outlok uses IE settings--this is confusing. Yet, in Outlook, the
Yahoo search page come up when I click on 'Search' : ( Thank you.

Thanks, but no. I don't have a 'normal' IE tool bar in Microsoft Outlook
2003. I changed the search engine in my IE, but it did not affect my search
Icon in Outlook, which still brings up Yahoo. : (

Do you have the MS antispyware program installed?
What does it say about search urls as defaults?

Good thinking, but...I went into Advanced settings and clicked on Google as
my search engine, and they were allegidly restore, but not for Outlook. It
still takes me to Google. I don't think it is a Browser Hyjacker, because
all else in IE and FireFox is fine. Woe is me, woe is me. : (

Umm....I don't want to have to log-in everytime I start Windows. It is
perfect now without my having to log in, and I don't want to change that
part. Logging-in, when I am the only user, is a pain in the butt.

I don't want to give Microsoft $35.00 for help, and besides, the call is
transferred to India, and it is diffiuclt to understand them...and they don't
always know what the heck they are doing. I discovered this by experience.

Thank you for trying. I want you to know it is appreciated. I am at my
wits end. I am not a nubie, but I cannot get this corrected.

All I have is this in 1033:
GAGTAT 10
Media Files

This is just to see if its for the local user or system wide
I'm certain its a registry key that controls that search engine preferance.
Have you tried a new outlook profle as well?

I can't find anything with the words Browser Extentions. There are lots of
files in 1033 but nothing with the word 'Browser'. Thanks.

This would be in your internet options in the control panel
Look for the tab that says programs and you will find it near the bottom.
See if any Yahoo ones are there

I am using Microsoft Office Outlook 2003. I think that is a little different
than the normal Outlook (Express).
