Seamless linking - urgent help needed

I followed instructions for linking ppt presentations on
http://www.awesomebackgrounds.com/powerpointlinking.htm, but have
one big problem with that.

At the end of each linked presentation, (after its last slide) i get the
'common' (beginning) slide of that pres. again and hangs, so i have to click
on it to get the beginning ('common') slide of the next pres. and so on.

What can i do?

Many thanks

tryto,
'common' (beginning) slide of that pres. again and hangs

Is that a 'hang' as in your computer/powerpoint locks up and does not
respond to anything.... it just the appearance of 'doing nothing'... if it's
just the 'appearance of doing nothing'.... then follow this....

From the tutorial.... step 24
===
Just use the mouse button or the right cursor key to move forward through
the presentation. Remember that to move from a linked presentation to the
next presentation you will have to click 3 times for powerpoint to display
the next presentation.

The first click will move back to the "show01.ppt" presentation
The second click will move to the next slide in "show01.ppt", powerpoint
will then automatically load the next presentation. So you may want to wait
half a second before pressing for the 3rd click.
The third click will move from the "common" slide in the linked presentation
to the first real slide.

===

If your computer/powerpoint is hanging, as in locking up and responding to
nothing, this indicates something not quite right with your
computer/powerpoint. So you probably need to update your graphics card
drivers (and / or) turn down something called 'hardware acceleration' see.

How to set graphics hardware acceleration back

I actually didn't mean 'hang' literally.
Thanks to you, i put more attention on step 24, and realized that this
tutorial is not really about "seamless" linking. After all, a click is a
seam, i think.

I thought this is about how to make presentations really linked, so they can
play one after another automatically - without any user action.

If you know a way to do this (except 'Package for CD', because that way my
embeded Flash object doesn't work), please let me know.

Thanks

tryto,
this tutorial is not really about "seamless" linking. After all, a click

It seamless, in that you don't see any 'gaps' between presentations, and you
don't see the desktop or a powerpoint 'edit' screen between presentations.
I thought this is about how to make presentations really linked, so they
can
play one after another automatically - without any user action.

If you want it seamless with no user intervention, then you need to remove
the "advance on mouse click" settings on each of your slides, then
powerpoint will advance automatically from slide to slide based on the
'time' setting you may have set.

The setting is on the "slideshow menu > slide transition"

Ok there are 2 problems left.

1) At end of each linked presentation, its first ('common', beginning) slide
appears once again, before the next presentation (its 'common' slide) begins.

2) Presentations chain doesn't loop. After last slide of the last
presentation, slide show ends.

Thanks a lot

1) At end of each linked presentation, its first ('common', beginning)
slide
appears once again, before the next presentation (its 'common' slide)
begins.
That's how the tutorial is written. You can remove the 'common' last slide
in each linked presentation if you want.
2) Presentations chain doesn't loop. After last slide of the last
presentation, slide show ends.

Set the MAIN/MASTER presentation to "loop until ESC" on the slideshow >
setup slide show menu.

Thanks TAJ, 1 prob left (looping resolved).

I must admit I don't really understand all the steps in the 'Custom
Animation' part.

So if you could
a) tell me how to remove the second appearance of 'common' slides.

b) [optional] explain the steps 20 and 21 (what's this about 'after previous'
and 'with previous' stuff, in the same object. I mean, how do we get 2
different
behaviors for the single object at the same time? What's 'after' and what's
'previous'?

c) [very optional] What's text_box got to do with it? We don't see it in the
presentation, so why to give it this 'with previous'(btw what 'previous')
feature?

Thanks again
