Using the controls that came with your video card.. Right-click on the
background, choose properties and go into the advanced settings (controls)
for your video card.

I’ve been able to correct a similar problem (screen flipped sideways) on a
friend’s pc quickly (she didn’t know the cause however) with System Restore:

Start->Programs->Accessories->System Tools->System Restore-> restore my
computer to an earlier time->Next (Pick an earlier date on calendar)

I hope it’s not a hardware problem; System Restore should clue you into
that! Good Luck!

ANA:
Using System Restore to undo an accidental change to one's Display
Properties is akin to purchasing a new car because a tire went flat.
See Shenan Stanley's post for an example of a less draconian fix for such a
simple problem.

Hey Og/Steve, I had tried what Shenan suggested & it didn't fix the problem
in my friend's case, System Restore did quickly without problems.

I'm just offering another suggestion & I also do not think your analogy is
accurate. If you still think it is enlighten me how it is so? -Thanks

Rotating one's display is a function of either:

(1.) a utility provided by the monitor manufacturer or

(2.) the driver provided by some video card manufacturers

Returning one's display to "normal" is a simple matter of undoing the
changes one has inadvertently made in either (1.) or (2.)

You think that System Restore isn't overkill? Consider:

This morning I spent a couple of hours installing and configuring MS Office
2007 Beta.

This afternoon my kitten leaped upon my keyboard.

Some of the keys she landed upon rotated my display 180-degrees.

It took me all of two seconds to hit the appropriate keys un-rotate my
display.

Had I used System Restore, all Registry entries made by the installation of
Office 2007 Beta would vanish.

I would have to spend another couple of hours re-installing and
re-configuring Office 2007 Beta.

System Restore, in the case of an accidentally rotated screen, is a
draconian solution to a wee problem.

That’s a more reasonable explanation for considerations to make before
utilizing System Restore (I still think your original analogy was more
ludicrous than the consideration of using System Restore if the MVP’s
suggestion doesn’t work but I’ll leave your “akin†to hyperbole). In my
friend’s case your suggestion didn’t work (or at least quickly enough for her
to get back to work in time) & she hadn’t done anything significant to her
system from the prior day’s restore point so System Restore quickly resolved
it.

BTW, I really don’t mean to be contentious rather clarifying. I hope we all
respond much better to reason than ridicule. Peace out people..
