Scripting error- patch available?

I got the following error message while trying to configure options in
McAfee Virusscan:

An error has occurred in the script on this page.

Char: 5
The data area passed to a system call is too small.
Code: 0

When I asked McAfee about it, they suggested installing some MS scripting
software patch, which I did. When that didn't work, they suggested
installing a patch for the Task Scheduler, but said I had to talk to MS
about it.

They also suggested that I ask MS for "the hot-fix for article Q812400 and
upcoming article Q812960"

Then by all means, contact Microsoft and ask for the hot fix.

This, however, is not Microsoft -- it is a newsgroup. This newsgroup is
hosted by Microsoft on Microsoft servers, but the people who provide help
here are volunteers. While it is true that, on occasion, a Microsoft
employee may visit this newsgroup on their lunch break to answer a question
or two, the vast majority of the folks who provide help here are not
affiliated with Microsoft.
