Script Error

Recently I have been getting a pop-up window that says:

An error has occurred in the script on this page.

Char: 1
Error: Object expected
Code: 0

I have run my Norton Anti-Virus software, Ad-Aware Professional, and
Spyware Doctor software (I know, probably overkill) and the only thing
I can figure out is that I have some sort of bug or malware that's
causing this.

When I fisrt turn turn on the computer in the morning Norton always
finds and removes an Adware program called "adware.purityscan" from my
system. I am trying to find a way to permanently remove that program
too.

After I empty the Temp folder a new html file name will appear after I
get the script error message. Never the same html file name twice.

Do you think that the adware.purityscan malware may be causing this
script error problem? And. if so, is there a way to get rid of that
permanently?

Get and use AdAware SE. The problem is that Norton may recognize the easy
part of the program to get at but doesn't recognize the spawning DLL that
maybe reasserting itself at every boot. At the very least jot down the name
of the new html file and do a manual search for it or you may want to try a
good reg cleaner like RegScrubXP to aid you in finding any rogue entries
associated with the program. This is a rather difficult, but not impossible
task. The very best suggestion I can give you is to run any scans while in
safe mode. That way, chance are good, the program will not have anything
loaded and thus locked so it can't be deleted. TTFN.
