Script Error every time a new Web page is loaded

Somebody please help me !

I have a Script Error poping out everytime I go into a Web page. The error
message is really similar to Microsoft Article ID 810395 (Revised September
12, 2005) and can be read as followed :

! An error has occured in the script on this page !
Line : 12
Char : 1
Error : Object expected
Code : 0
URL : file://C:\Documents and Settings\Stephane\Local
Settings\Temp\NDr46.tmp.html

This error ALWAYS comes back with a different HTML location (NDr46.tmp.html
part of the URL will always change to NDr41.tmp.html or NDr100.tmp.html).

For additional information, the problem surged ever since I have downloaded
a new Norton Internet Security 2005 Edition on my computer. Could it be the
Security software that is causing this problem ? I have checked everything
related to the Security software and everything seems in order.

I was provided with an Hotfix from Microsoft (related to Article ID 810395)
but it didn't resolve the problem.

If anyone could help me resolve this problem (which I am sure it's something
simple to resolve), please contact me by email as soon as possible before I
start getting stomach ulcers with this issue.

Thank you all.

Hi,
I'm going to guess that the OS in Windows XP?

First see if Norton is the problem. Turn on the Windows Firewall from
Control Panel> Windows Firewall. Then disable Norton and see if the error
still occurs.

Next, try these steps:
Clear the IE cache. IE> Tools> Internet Options> General> Delete
files (and delete offline content when that dialog pops up) It's often
recommended that the TIF folder be kept at about 50 MB (Settings.)

Try these two commands from Start> Run> cmd [enter]
regsvr32 vbscript.dll [enter]
regsvr32 jscript.dll [enter]

Reinstall the scripting engine. Go to
http://msdn.microsoft.com/library/default.asp?url=/downloads/list/webdev.asp
for the appropriate download of Windows Script 5.6

Finally, read the message at http://forum.aumha.org/viewtopic.php?t=4075
Then go to http://www.aumha.org/a/quickfix.htm Work through the preliminary
cleaning steps then, if necessary, post a HijackThis log to the forum at
http://forum.aumha.org/viewforum.php?f=30

Be patient. It's a busy forum.

HijackThis logs are also analyzed at these (and other) forums. Look for the
proper forum and an "Important- Read This First" message so that you follow
proper procedure.

Hi Mr. Varnau,

Thank you for helping me with this problem I have been trying to resolve for
the past 4 days. So far so good. I have followed the instructions found on
the Aumha Quickfix Protocole and the information found on that site was
really helpful. Once the protocole ended, the problem didn't ressurged (for
now). If I do have the same problem in the days to come, I will post somedy
a HijackThis log in the forum for me to resolve the issue.

Thank you once again for your precious help. Your services are quite
helpful, better than the service offered by the Microsoft support Center
which don't care less but to refer the clients to their own.

Have a good rest of the week-end !

Hi Mr. Varnau,

My version of Windows is WP Home Edition.

After I wrote you yesteday, I had effectuated the Aumha Quick Fix protocol.
Unfortunately, the problem reacurred. I have posted a log in the Aumha forum
under the Internet Explorer, Outlook, Outlook Express topic. The log can be
retraced with the author id sb007. Hope that someone will be able to find
the exact problem with my browser.

I have been told by a Microsoft customer's service representative that it
could be a corruption of my User Profile and that I would possibly have to
create a New User Profile, but considering that the error problem did occur
when logged under other User Profiles or under a New User Profile, I don't
think that the problem is related that aspect.

This was just to advise you that the problem is now posted in the Aumha
Forum under author ID sb007.

Thank you very much for your precious help.

Hi Stephane and Don,

I run
Windows XP, home edition
IE 6.0 SvcPk 2
NAV2005

I'm running into the same problem as you, and any fix that I've made results
in the same annoying error.

An additional error, which started about the same time as the script error
was that IE would result in an error when trying to open Outlook or Outlook
Express when sending a link or page. This may be a separate issue. I haven't
tried to fix that problem yet.

Anxiously awaiting a fix.

Hi Tatjana,

I am still experiencing the same problem. But as of this morning, the
problem seem to have stopped. I am no longer receiving the same script error
messages and I wouldn't be able to explain why it has suddely stopped. The
only difference from yesterday night is that I had put my PC on standby for
the night and the problem didn't reappeared the next morning.

There is another log under another forum/newsgroup that was started for this
problem at the following address :

http://forum.aumha.org/viewforum.php?f=7&sid=594e9afe197467aacc0c7b4ad9ce5c03

Look into author sb007. This log report was logged on on Tuesday September
20, 2005. I already received many replies that helped me understand what
could exactly be at the source of the bug/parasite.

Make sure to follow all the procedures carefully for you to see if your
problem can be resolved.

Good luck and hope you can fix your problem as it can be really stressfull
after a while, especially when you use your computer for work on an everyday
basis.

Cheers.

Stephane
