Screen Scroller ?

J

John Fitzsimons

Sometimes on a web page, a text page, or a spreadsheet etc. I want to
automatically scroll down the page. I don't want to use my wheel mouse
or scroll buttons.

Does a multi-app scroller even exist ? Presumably with an option to
change the pace of scrolling down the page ?

Any suggestions/feedback appreciated.

Regards, John.

This feature is built into my Microsoft IntelliMouse. You press/click
the scroll wheel, and the scroll direction and speed is adjustable by
positioning the cursor/pointer.

There is a plug in for Firefox that does this.

Strange. I thought I had seen something like that BUT when I tried it
after your post it didn't work. I tried it again today and it does !

Thank you. :)

Thanks. It looks like there might be more than one Firefox extension
that does that. Once I can work out what "emulate Acrobat Reader
scrolling", and other terms, mean I can compare them.

There is a small freeware program called Scroller that you drag and drop the icon
onto the side bar of the window, then click on the start button for it to
automatically start scrolling the page. You can alter the speed too. I think I got
it from the Ziff Davis Website or PC World/PC Mag. Sorry to be so vague but it was
a long time ago. If it sounds like what you want and you can't get hold of it, give
a shout to see about the option of sending the program to you.

I had no problem finding references to it. I think it is 128k and
called scrolle.zip . I couldn't find an active download link. :-(

My return address works if you take out the obvious so could
you please email it to me ? Thanks. :)

Regards, John.

Hi John,

if you're still interested in trying Scroller 1.0 (scrolle.zip), I found a working link
on this site near the bottom of the page:

http://www.d20.co.edu/downloads/ilister.php?type=pc

direct download link: http://galileo.d20.co.edu/xsoftware/scrolle.zip

Enjoy!
