Screen Resolution

Hope someone can help. Here goes:
When I first start my computer and it shows my destop,
everything is find. My Settings in Display, Properties,
is 800 by 600 pixels. When I click on any icons to go
into that particular program all is fine...But...
When I click on the Microsoft Word icon, my Display
Setting is 640 by 480 pixels. This makes the screen huge.
No matter what I do, I cannot get the Display Setting to
stay at 800 by 600 pxs.
I am not very knowledgable when it comes to computer
lanugage.
Can anyone help me.

Dee,

Right click the shortcut you're using to start Word, select Properties. Go
to Compatibility and see if its set to run in 640x480 mode.
