Screen Resolution Display slider won;t budge

in Display properties Screen Area slider to the 800 By 600
Pixels setting, will not budge and the display is way too
large for the window ..What should be done for Windows XP
Home Edition..

Dianne,

It sounds like you need to find the proper drivers for you
display adapter. Without the proper driver it will
usually only allow the poorer resolution such as 640x480
or 800x600. Find out the manufacturer and go there
website and get the most current drivers. If you dont
know the manufacturer you can download a program called
Belarc Advisor. search for it in google. It might tell
you the adapter you have.
