screen resolution problem

Hello,

I'm relatively new with AD (W2K server) and GPO's. Anyway I have this
strange problem with few computers in my domain. I recently installed 8 new
desktops (winXP) using ghost cloning. Altogether I have about 30 PC's in the
domain. All are in the same OU.

Problem is the screen resolution in these 8 new desktops. When user changes
the screen resolution it is done OK but restored to the default setting
1280x1024 when the user restarts of logs off the PC. This doesn't happen to
the older PC's in the same OU under the same GPO's

I have 2 different GPO's and none of them does anykind of screen resolution
setting. Atleast as far as I know. To make things more weird this behavior
doesn't occur if I add the user who logs on to the PC to the Domain Admins
group.

I would just need help to troubleshoot this issue because it's driving me
nuts! Is this because the policies or user accounts or what? My old users
were set up the same way than the new ones and they have the same user
rights. Can this happen because the PC's were cloned?

Thanks!
Ellak

Sounds like it is a problem with the image and the permissions are
restrictive. Try using a local non admin if this fails then you can rule out
the user policies
