Screen resolution keeps changing back

Mark

I have a problem with the screen resolution keep changing
back to the lowest setting whenever the computer is
restarted or randomly at other times. I have downloaded
Nvidia drivers from the website in the hope that this may
help but the problem still remains. Does anybody have any
ideas?

Thanks very much for your help Kelly. Unfortunately it
didn't work. We believe that it resizes no matter what
settings are specified in the registry. We have even
tried to get rid of all the systray applications using
msconfig. The mystery is, why would XP suddenly resize
the desktop.

Cheers,

Mark.

Hi Mark,

See if this helps:

Save Settings on Exit (Line 54)
http://www.kellys-korner-xp.com/xp_tweaks.htm

To use the Regedit: Save the REG File to your hard disk. Double click it
and answer yes to the import prompt. REG files can be viewed in Notepad by
right clicking on the file and selecting Edit.

You are not alone, Mark. This happens to many XP users. I just haven't
found the social glue as of yet. That said, most running the Save Settings
on Exit worked.

For others, this has to do with software that allows them to have different
desktop settings per user and/or after playing a game which needed 256 etc
and closing the system after playing the game without resetting the values.

Good luck, Mark!

Kelly thanks very much for trying anyway. You may have
hit on something when you talked about software. I have a
sneaking suspicion this is something to do with, not a
game, but Winfast TV. I really don't know how to get
around this problem. Perhaps there is some setting in
Winfast I could try. Sigh! I'll just keep trying. Too bad
I don't like the "default" screen size, as it would have
made life easier.
