Scratchy sound

Hi
I have a problem when my computer has to play any kind of
sound (for example: cd, dvd, mp3, games,...)
There's always a scratchy sound in it.
But the funny part is that at the beginning of a sound
played there isn't a scratchy sound, it's only after a
few minutes, and than it goes on until I restar my
computer.
I have this problem for a while.
Last time I formatted my computer and reinstalled windows
xp.
The scatchy sound was gone for weeks. Then it returned...
I tried everything I know of to get rid of it. (Latest
drivers, windows help, ...)
Can anyone help me please?

Q: I'm having sound problems (muffledness, echoes, errors, speed issues,
etc).

Hello, i have had the same problem, see below, i have
just turned off the graphic equalizer from the now
playing screen(or View>Enhancements>Graphic Equalizer)
on Wimdows Media Player and the problem has gone, just a
shame you can't use the graphic equalizer now. Hope it
works for you.
