scanner problem

my scanner is plugged into my computer..and to the power
outlet...i am trying to scan pictures - does not allow -
message says "cannot detect scanner or camera..." (it
prints fine). i have unplugged and replugged the
plugs..any help would be appreciated...

You didn't tell so much about Your scanner, OS etc.
We don't know what You have!?
