I know how to do it..BUT. Now when I try to save a picture I only get 1 or 2
choices for the save format; art or bmp. I can't save them in jpg as that
is not given as an option. It use to work. I am runnning xp home edition,
with latest updates, I use AOL as my browser. It has worked fine for 5 years,
I have not changed anything and one day this started happening. I have
cleared the temp folder several times and the probelm is still there. If I
go into Aol's preferences and choose NEVER COMPRESS GRAPHICS then I can save
pics in JPG format. BUT that slows down my system. And I could save pics
before when I did not select "NEVER COMPRESS GRAPHICS" so what's happeing and
how can I go back to saving pics in JPG format and still allow my browser to
compress graphics??? THANKS for any help!!!

Delete the Temporary Internet Files Cache. In IE go to Tools | Internet
Options | General Tab - Temporary Internet Files - Delete Files | Put a
tic mark in delete all offline content. Click ok. While there also
change the amount of storage allocated to TIF. Click on Temporary
Internet Files - Settings. Set the amount of space to use at 20-40 MB.

My quick and dirty way is to type a . (period) on the end of
the given file name, and then TYPE jpg after the
period.

as in

picture.jpg

THEN click on Save

try that.
