Saving Internet pics

Duane

I need some help guys. When I click on an internet pic
and go to save as, the only option I have is to save it
as a *.bmp or *.art. I need it to save as a jpeg file.
Does anyone know how to fix this problem?
Please e-mail me to my personal account.
Thank's

Dear Duane,

This has been a problem with Internet Explorer for some time. The best way
to save it as a .jpeg it to drag the picture to the desktop. It always works
out like that for me.

I've got the same problem, something to do will AOL, the
way I've 'sort of' got round it is; before clicking on
the picture to display it, right click it then
select 'Save Target As', then select JPG, the quality &
size is worse but it's the only way I've found!

You have too many temp files and they need to be deleted.
You can do this through IE by going to Tools/Internet Options
and clicking on "Delete Cookies", "Delete Files", and "Clear History.

However, this still leaves a huge mess of temp files scattered all over
your system. Use this free software and run it at its default settings...

The original download site is down right now, but you can try
www.freebies4ya.com/members/cleanup.asp

This is the same type of software as WindowWasher, only Cleanup is free.
After running this utility, you should then be able to save files in the
graphic format they
are supposed to be in.... plus your system will run faster and more
efficiently.

control panel \ internet options \ general tab

This happens if the indexes of the Temporary Internet Files get
overloaded. In Control Panel - Internet Options, in the temporary
internet files section on the General page, click 'Delete files'. Then
I suggest click Settings and reduce the space allowed - 50 MB is
probably generous, and on big drives it tends to choose by default a
setting that is so high that this overload happens
