saving IE web pages

Marcy

Hi! I bank with 3 different banks. I can only "save" the page from only ONE
of the three banks. the other 2 dont save at all. says the web page can not
be saved .....
The one that DOES save, saves all my balances, acct activity, etc exactly as
it is viewed while on line and logged in to my account.
I know that I can copy & Paste then print the info from the OTHER 2 banks
that cant be saved; but In order to argue an error (for example) that the
banks have or do make, its easier to prove them wrong by actually printing
the page that I have saved on to my pc. OR printing every single day from
the web (which is not convenineint of course)-
I'd be able to save alot of paper/ink if I can just save all my daily banks'
activitys daily to my pc-then delete them when all is going well and no need
to dispute.

My question is, what can I program can I download or need to be able to
'save' these kinds of web pages with all their web things to be legite, in
the event that I need to dispute something with my 2 other banks. Know of
any such program?

You might be able to use a virtual printer like the free CutePDF Writer
(http://www.cutepdf.com/) to create pdf files. You could then use a PDF
viewer like the free Adobe reader to print out any pages you need hard
copies of.

Security alert: If you store financial information like this on your
hard drive it would be available to others should you at some point need
to have your computer serviced. The same applies to the files generated
by income tax preparation software. Consider storing such information on
removable media like a USB thumb drive or on a CD-RW using packet
writing software like Nero or Easy CD Creator. The CD-R burning process
uses a buffer on your hard drive which might leave a copy of the files
on the hard drive available to a knowledgeable person until subsequent
activity overwrites that portion of the hard disk.

Most of the online banking systems have a method to either display the
statement and then print it or download a file containing the info.

Have you asked the banks about this? There are ways that a webmaster can disallow saving a web page.

I think that copying and pasting into Word would be a good idea and wouldn't take much longer than saving the page in IE. You would then have a .doc file with everything on the web page intact.

havent asked the banks yet, Ronnie. I suppose I can;however, i think that
(Wells Fargo) I would probably get transfered to several people or several
800 #'s if I tried to ask this question. And maybe, I would still not get
the right person to answer or help me with this question.
I have copied the info on Notepad. I dont have Word. I do have Corel word
perfect 10. I wonder if the icons would also copy to WPerfect? I want to be
able to have it as if one were viewing it online, in the event I have to
dispute it. See...... anyone can type all the info and put figures to their
advantage. I want the banks to see that it is a true copy of their bank.
thanks for all who input and help!

If I was having problems with my bank and had to worry about them being
accurate or me having to constantly dispute them...I'd change banks.
