Save photos in BMP format ONLY WHY???

For some reason, when trying to save a picture from the
internet, the only format I can save it in is BMP. This
happened to me once before and I couldn't figure it out,
finally my system crashed one day and when I re-installed
XP pro it was back to normal again. Well once again it
is back. I cannot save any picture file in anything
other then a BMP. Is there some setting I can change so
I can save a JPG as a JPG file.

Please email me if possibel with any solutions.

I am answering my own question, I read through some posts
and found the answer. Use the link below and follow the
instructions about deleting the temp files in explorer
and then gettiung rid of the files that are unknown, It
took me like 5 minutes and now I am able to save JPG'S
and Gif's again.

Go to My Computer and click on Tool Menu and then click down on Folder
Options. Then go and click tab call the file Type. If you don't see JPEG
or JPG. Then click on a button call New below and type in JPEG Image and
JPG Image and when done click OK. This will put JPEG Image and JPG Image
back on your Windows Xp. This will make Win Xp recognized that you have
some or several JPEG photo install.

It has happened to me before and now its happening again.
There is a fix for this but I cant remeber the steps. Does
anyone have the fix.

Make .jpg an option again.

I know I have to find and delete some file.
