Save Images in IE6, only in BMP?

When I've been using Internet Explorer, I often need to save images to disk from the web. I know how to do this (Right click, save-as, etc.) but for some reason lately, every time I try to save an image, the filename will always 100% come up as "untitled" instead of the filename. and as if that wasn't enough, I can only save in BMP format, even if the image that i'm trying to save is JPG, GIF, etc. I would really appreciate help with this, as it is quite inconvenient. Thanks!

Zach,
This is almost always cured by clearing the IE cache.
From IE> Tools> Options> General> Delete Files & Delete offline content. You
might also set the TIF folder size to about 50MB.
