"save as" in Word 2003 changes past versions of ...

When I try to save a changed version of a file in Word 2003 all versions of
that file are changed to be identical to the file I have made using "save as".

In other words, if I have a file that has this week's menue in it, and I
revise the menu and save it as a different file, all previsous versions of
that file willbe changed too. In other words, all the previous weeks menus
will read the same.

Is there a setting I can change to keep this from happening? Or is there a
different method to use to save a file with revisions. Note" this is
different that the editing revision situation where different people are
editing a document and you want to merge the changes at the end of the
process.

Thanks.

You should ask this question in a Word newsgroup. This newsgroup is
for people designing tables in the database program Microsoft Access.
You'll get more experienced answers for this very odd bug in one of
the Word newsgroups.
