Hi,
I needed to install an aditional drive to my dell pe sc420 so I purchased a
160GB dr. The bios see the drive as 164GB but win2k sp4 see it as a 120GB
dr.
I ran all kinds of tests on the HD and all checked ok. It's probably a
window drive problem, right? What am I missing?
TIA
Mike

Hello,
I’m running Windows 2000 Professional, with SP4. Does that version of Windows support sata. Which version of sata(sata1, sata 2 or sata 3)would be best suited for win 2000. I currently have four external SCSI drives connected to an Adaptec PCI card. My goal is to add more storage and performance, using SSD drives. The scsi drive that boots is the one that has “0” ID. How can I use both my current scsi drives and the new SSD together? Also how do I setup my SSD drives so the system boots from SSD. If I have multiple SSD drives how to you set ID numbers?
One more thing, how much faster is SATA compared to a 10000 rpm scsi drive?
Thanks much,
Mike
