P4p800-vm

Just built a new system which features the p4p800-vm mobo, the bios is 1013.

I have a maxtor Sata 250gb hd along with a samsung 160gb ide hd ,the Sata is
not being recognised at all in the bios, i have been told that the bios may
need updating, however the computer does not have a floppy disc drive (no
space) is there anything else i could do?

Sorted it out ended up creating a cd with the stuff on and running it from
there etc.
